Adult Occupational Therapy Services

Bright Horizons Occupational Therapy is pleased to now offer occupational therapy services for adults. Our goal is to help individuals maintain independence, improve safety, and access the supports they need to participate fully in daily life.

We provide personalized assessments and recommendations tailored to each individual’s unique needs, abilities, and goals.

Disability Tax Credit (DTC) Applications

The Disability Tax Credit (DTC) is a federal tax credit designed to help offset the additional costs associated with living with a disability. As occupational therapists, we can assess functional limitations and complete the required sections of the Disability Tax Credit application when appropriate.

Our services include:

• Review of eligibility criteria
• Functional assessment and documentation
• Completion of the applicable portions of the DTC application
• Collaboration with other healthcare providers as needed

Mobility & Home Equipment Consultations

Safe and appropriate mobility & adaptive home equipment can significantly improve independence, comfort, and participation in everyday activities. We provide consultations to determine the most suitable solutions based on an individual’s physical abilities, environment, and goals.

Assessments may include recommendations for:

• Manual wheelchairs
• Walkers
• Bathroom safety equipment — including grab bars, shower chairs, bath benches, raised toilet seats, etc.
• Transfer equipment

We can also assist with documentation required for funding applications and equipment procurement.

Cost of Services

In Clinic: $150/hour

Written Reports/Letters: Billed at $150/hour*

*Written reports are only completed at the request of clients and their families

Payment

Payment is due at the end of each session. Payment can be made by Visa, Mastercard, cash or e-transfer to ashley@brighthorizonsot.ca.

Cancellation Policy

In order to cover business costs, cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment time, regardless of the reason for cancellation, will be billed at half the rate of the session.

No shows will be billed at the full rate of the session.

Extended Health Insurance Plans

Occupational therapy may be covered by your private health insurance plan. Please contact your provider to determine if OT is covered. Receipts for services will be issued after payment has been received.
